Joe Scurlock has been involved in real estate since 1996, building and operating companies across lending and mortgage, acquisitions, title, real estate publications, and legal services.
He has been highly active in real estate investing, purchasing, leasing, and selling distressed assets in the Florida and Oregon markets. That hands-on experience has given him a thorough understanding of the industry—from finding a property to navigating the transaction.
Joe was a principal owner of one of the nation’s largest mortgage banking firms. His companies have been involved in more than $3 billion in single-family residential sales and mortgages, and he has personally purchased and sold more than 2,000 homes.
His current project, HomeStream, is incorporating AI-infused technologies to streamline the real estate process. The goal is to make discovery more intuitive and keep the journey from first interest to the next step more connected.

A property can spark your interest long before you know its address. HomeStream’s original concept uses GPS and the direction your phone is pointing to help connect that moment to a property’s listing stream.
Nearby discovery, personal preferences, comparisons, and the planned BuyerReady and CloseReady services build on that idea: make each step easier to understand and connect people with the information and professionals they need.
The app is currently a working prototype. AI features, live property data, professional integrations, and nationwide availability are development goals.
